The School of HPER presents the 2008 Reynold Carlson Lecture featuring Dr. Karla Henderson. The Reynold E. Carlson Lecture is presented annually by an outstanding outdoor educator. The lecture is named after one of the pioneers and founders of the outdoor recreation movement Reynold Carlson. Dr. Carlson was a past chair and professor of the Department of Recreation and Park Administration (now named Department of Recreation, Park, and Tourism Studies). Dr. Carlson passed away in 1997 at the age of 95.
